| Location: CLINTON,UT,USA Member Since: Apr 30, 2009 Gender: Male Goal Type: Boston Qualifier Running Accomplishments: I started running in 2004. I have completed 20 full marathons and one Ultra marathon trail run and a 25 k trail run. I did the Wasatch Back Relay in 2005 with a Ultra Mixed team and did it in 2006 , 2007 and 2009, 2010 with a 12 person team. Best marathon is Ogden 2010 in 3:19:00 and best Half Marathon is Ogden in 1:30:12. Finished my first Triathlon 5th place age and 14th overall in Layton on July 31st, 2010. Did the Bear lake Brawl sprint TRI loved it and finished 4th in age group and completed the South Davis TRI and also finished fourth in age. 13 overall. Short-Term Running Goals: Boston Qualify Ogden Marathon 2011 here I come. Ya hOO Long-Term Running Goals: just enjoy the running and meeting new people. I am doing my first TRI on July 31st in Layton and want to complete the Ironman in the future. Personal: married and have two wonderful girls. |

| | Today I woke up with a sore knee, probably from the hike yesturday. I left out the door and it was snowing a little. Decided to run my favorite 6 mile course, it has a lot of rolling hills and a little downhill. I managed to run this in 43:12 my knee was a little sore until I loosened up then I fealt great. Now Ice the knee and stretch. Not too bad of a run. Looking forward to Ogden in a week. Starting to get nervous I hate that. |

| | Today I ran 10 miles on the Syracuse trail. Nice day ran pretty good knee has been a little sore so I have been iceing the heck out of it after. Ran the 10 miles in 1:14 feel good about the time, took it easy the first 5 miles and picked it up the last 5. |

| | ran a nice 5 miler today just to loosen the leg. Still a little knee pain but i can manage to run well after it loosens up. Weird that this happens a week before a marathon but hey I know I can get through it ok. Ice, Ibprofen, and rest. Looks like the weather will be another nice year this year in Ogden. |

Ogden Marathon 2010 (26.2 Miles) 03:24:04, Place overall: 160, Place in age division: 30 | |
Well I was very sore going into this race. I had a pulled groin and ITB was tight on my right knee all week before the race. I was very stressed that I was not feeling 100 percent as I trained alot harder this marathon and had alot more miles in. I rode my bike the week before and put in a few miles to let the leg rest and see how it would hold up. The night before all I thought about was not finishing and my groin and knee not letting me finish. I told myself that I need a little bit of sleep and I was able to get a few hours is all. I woke up at 3 am to get started on some good breakfast, two bananas, piece of toast and some water. I took a power bar for the start while I was waiting. Bus was great I ended up on a nice charter bus that had reclining seats and sat next to a good friend. The ride was nice and I got to the start an hour and a half before. It was cold as usual and I managed to stay warm with a large plastic bag that covered my body. The race lined up on time and I decided that I was not going to line up to close to the front. So I lined up around the 7:50 to 8 minute pace sign. Not knowing how I would feel once I started running on my leg was so stressful. The race started and we were off. The first two miles was hard on the groin it was trying to stretch and I could feel it, but it did not hurt too bad. I ran the first half in 1:33 and was feeling really good. I got to the hill at 14 and once on top I feel my ITB tightening up and my groin started to hurt. I slowed a bit to a comfortable pace and finished at 3:24:04. Not to bad for the way I was feeling going into this race. Placed 160 overall and 30 in age group. The weather was awesome, great friends and people cheering along the way. These things do not get any easier. Good job to all that came out and ran.

Striders Memorial 5k (3.1 Miles) 00:20:02, Place overall: 10, Place in age division: 1 | | Well I worked a 14 hour day yesturday and got home at 2:30 this morning and said what the heck set the alarm for 5:45 to go register for the 5K in Syracuse. I have not ran a 5K in a while I was not anticipating a fast race, but my competitive inside told me line up with the young bucks up front. I mean there was young kids all over up front that I knew where going to fly out of the start. The race started and we were off. I stayed with the leaders throughout the race and we broke away from the large pack behind us. At mile 2 I thought wow this race is going fast and i am almost finished. I kicked to the finish and came in feeling good. Time was 20:02 and I wanted under 20 but oh well I was close to it. Great day took 10th overall and 1st in my old age group. |
